Notes From A

Life In Progress

Why We Are began with a single question, not what we do, not what we've built, but why we are. It turns out, that question changes everything.

Why We Are Here

At Some Point, The Question Shifts

You've built things, achieved things, and checked the boxes. You were told you would feel whole. And yet, something underneath keeps pulling at you. Not toward more, but toward something simpler.

Dr. Carlos Garcia and Supna Doshi know that moment, because, they've both lived it. They've spent the better part of a decade exploring it together; through conversation, through psychology, through spirituality, through the kind of honesty that only comes when you stop performing and start listening.

Why We Are exists for that shift. The one that moves you from building to knowing and from achieving to being.

This is not a self-help platform. It is not a program or a system or a set of answers. It is a space. And you are welcome here exactly as you are.

“At some point, the question changes

from what you’re building
to who you are being.”

The Meaning

Behind The Name

Why We Are Is a Question, Not an Answer.

The name had been sitting with Dr. Carlos Garcia for a while. It came simply and without resistance. For Supna, it resonated deeply. It points to something that can't be Googled, summarized, or solved. Why we are isn't a question you answer once and move on. It's a question you live with. It sits beneath the roles you carry, the identities you've built, the stories you've told yourself about who you are and what your life is supposed to look like. And when you finally let yourself sit with it — really sit with it — it opens into something remarkable.

Testimonials

We don’t provide answers.

We create space.

Space to pause, to reflect, to question what has been assumed.

Our work sits at the intersection of psychology and spirituality: grounded, honest, accessible.

We are not here to tell you what to believe. Truthfully, that’s for you to find out and get to on your own. We are here to ask the questions and to guide and create the conditions where clarity can emerge on its own.
